About Schools' Take on Media

Kids don't just consume media; they adapt it, critique it and create it. It's the water they swim in; a ubiquitous backdrop to their lives. Making sense of all this media, aka: media literacy, is quickly becoming as important as the traditional three Rs (reading writing, arithmetic). Some would argue that with kids spending as much time with media as they do in their daily classroom, it should be at the top of the educational food chain.

We've asked students, kids and teachers across the GTA to show us what they think of the media and entertainment landscape... what has meaning, what has impact and what ends up in the recycle bin. We'll be updating this page regularly. If your school, students - or your child - would like to contribute, please drop us a line.
