Logo Origins and Use
About the Logo
The kidsmediacentre logo and brand identification that you see throughout this website was developed by second-year graphic design student Hannah Hall:
"The goal was to create a brand design that was authoritative, forward thinking and tech friendly. But it also had to be childlike AND reflect all the different media choices kids have today. The font could carry some of that communication but we also wanted a logo to work with some of the ‘future’ and whimsical messaging.
"A robot alone couldn’t do all that so I added the circuit board and universal power symbol to show the ‘heart’ kids have for media, how they’re always ‘on’, and how integrated media is in their lives. The colour treatment and font selections communicate kids’ energy and enthusiasm for media and the mixed fonts I used (BlairMdITC TT, Eurostile, Futura and Frutiger) are scaled back and say authority.
